My husband has Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s. I needed to have respite for myself, as I was his full-time carer. I chose to use Park House over a year ago. I have never regretted my decision.
The time came in November of this year 2023. That I could no longer care for my husband at home. He is now in permanent care at Park House.
We have just spent our first Christmas together there and it was beautiful. We were both cared for all day by the team of smashing staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them to make it a happy day for us and the other residents.
The chef cooked us a delicious Christmas dinner. The team sat down with us at the tables that were laid with festive tablecloths and crackers. We had a table for two. Which made it more special. All residents had gifts to open from Park House.
The management team, have gone above and beyond, to care, help and support me, through what has been the most difficult time in so many ways. With love to you all from us both.
I have visited my good friend on 3 occasions and have been impressed with this home. Caring and compassionate staff, always respectful and welcoming to visitors. Clean and well maintained premises. Real sense of family amongst residents and staff who are clearly very committed to their work.
I cannot recommend Park House highly enough: it is well led by the manager who knows all the residents and is knowledgable, supportive, and everything you would want from a care home manager; the staff are amazing and you can really drop in any time to visit; the residents are such kind, supportive people. It really is a home-from-home. Sadly, Dad was only at Park House for a few months but its impact on our lives was transformative.
My husband has vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. I am his full time carer. I needed to find a rest home for my husband, that would enable me to have some much needed respite for myself. Either on a daily basis or for longer periods of time. I am so pleased that I found Park House. Karen, the Manager is quite amazing. Her all round dedication is second to none. Her carefully chosen staff are just lovely, carding, gentle, supportive and clearly take their job very seriously, to make the residents feel safe and loved. I would not want my husband to be anywhere else. The love and support I also receive, makes me feel stronger to carry on looking after my husband at home. Thank you Park House. 🙏🏻
I have been visiting Park House for about 10 years and have seen many changes, different owners, and managers.
I have been in many rest homes in my professional compacity both as a Nurse and as a Foot Health Practitioner and can honestly say this is one of the top ones.
Karen is the manager, and she has done an amazing job turning Park House into a friendly, well managed and family environment. Karen is very much a hands-on manager and is happy to get stuck in and work alongside the staff.
All staff members are fantastic, they are caring, respectful and compassionate and I can see that the residents love them for that. There are no starchy uniforms creating a distance between the staff and the residents, thus making it more of a family environment rather than a clinical one, because, at the end of the day, this is the residents’ home.
I want to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to the Park House Rest house staff. Over the past weeks, I have been upgrading their fire system. This has meant much planning with the team to ensure the residents have been kept to their daily routines. I have been in many rest homes in my professional compacity. It is refreshing to see each staff member showing personal care in their duties. I've enjoyed my time there and will miss chatting with the residents and staff members, who all have made me feel welcome. Thank you to you all for your patience.

My mum recently moved into Park House Care Home and is settling in nicely. It's good to see her smile again as I know it was very hard for her to give up her independence and her own home. She has already made some new friends with both the residents and the staff. The staff are very friendly and attentive and do their best to make her happy. I receive regular updates about mum from the manager which is very useful and such a relief for me to know she is being well looked after and cared for. I feel very fortunate that I found such a lovely, friendly care home for mum.
Our mum was initially placed with Park House Rest Home for respite but she is so settled and content that we are now planning a permanent stay. From our first meeting with Karen we knew that Mum was going to be well looked after and cared for and this has proved to be so true. Karen has been in contact regularly to let us know how Mum is getting on and when visiting we have chatted with Karen, Jodie and Hayley who have been so kind and caring. They have all really got to know Mum and you can see that she is so settled and really happy to be with them. The place always seems friendly with a really nice atmosphere and lots going on. Mum is smiling more than she has in years and sharing little stories about her new activities with her Park House friends.
My mum stayed at Park House for respite care. The care and attention she received whilst there was simply amazing. Karen and her wonderful team went to the next level to ensure my mum was cared for and had everything she needed. Mum was always beautifully turned out whenever I went to visit with fresh clean clothes and hair washed. Karen ensures they have plenty of activities going on to keep them entertained. What Karen also does brilliantly (which meant the world to me) was to reassure me with plenty of communication (email & face to face). My mum has come out fully rested and back on her feet (literally). If we ever need respite care in the future this will be the only care home we use. Cannot thank Karen and her team enough for all they did x
My lovely Mum moved in to Park House recently, she was made to feel welcome straightway.
All of the staff are amazing and have they have made my Mum happy again.
The standard of professionalism is second to none and Karen the Manager has communicated with me throughout.
It is lovely to Mum laughing and joking again.
I can't thank all at Park house enough
